As a father of four and grandfather to 11, Sonny is married to Joan Moreman. The two have been members of Lakeview Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 32 years.

Growing up in Auburn, AL, Sonny graduated from Auburn High School before attending Auburn University where he graduated with a business degree. Sonny went on to serve in the Air Force for 28 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.
My Pledge to You.
As a man of few words, I try to choose mine carefully, and the ones we have committed to are Integrity, Wisdom, & Leadership. Over the course of my life, I have learned from military leaders, business professionals, my children, and most importantly, godly men and women.
These influences have directly shaped my perspective on the world, and have uniquely prepared me for public service on city council. I pledge to maintain myself as a man of integrity before the people of Auburn and the Lord. You will be able to trust that my intentions are pure, and my heart true. The wisdom given to me will enable me to provide counsel across a wide variety of issues, and I will do my best to lead in a way that reflects the people and interests of Ward 5.
